Selected Presentations and Abstracts from Regional LRC Dissemination Conferences in 2002

In 2002, AIHA organized five regional LRC dissemination conferences. The purpose of these conferences was to allow partners to present models, best practices and lessons learned related to the success of their LRCs. The conferences also featured site visits to local health care institutions, which demonstrated successful models of the application of information technology to improve the quality of care, for example through electronic patient records, telemedicine, and evidence-based practice. The dissemination conferences featured presentations and discussions on successful sustainability strategies that are being employed by LRCs throughout the region. Following the conferences, AIHA compiled the best examples of the LRC activities into a booklet LRC Project Best Practices and Lessons Learned: A Guide to Improving Healthcare through Information and Communication Technology.
